The administration of Kebbi State has urged the recently trained forest rangers within the state to carry out their responsibilities with professionalism at their respective posts.
The guidance came from the Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Senator Abubakar Umar Tafida, representing Governor Nasir Idris, just after they completed their training.
He mentioned that the government is anticipating your demonstration of the beneficial roles you can contribute to Kebbi State and the nation.
Eight hundred nineteen forest officers completed their training within the state.
They originated from four regional administrative divisions, including Arewa, Augie, Dandi, and Danko/Wasagu.
Training Officer, Lt. Commandant G. Aka, during a short statement, mentioned that the recruits have been trained on methods to combat banditry and insurrection impacting villages in Kebbi State.
Earlier, CP Umar Hadejia, representing the National Security Adviser, revealed that the trainees were deployed as part of the Presidential Forest Guards Initiative.
As he stated, the responsibility of the guards included protecting cultural landmarks, conserving natural environments and water sources, and supporting the nation's security framework, mainly through cooperation with groups like rebels, thieves, and extremists.
